Emilia, Pomac’s Wonder Woman
In Peru there are more than a million illiterate people, who work every day and face the problems of daily life just like the rest of the population.
One of them is our beloved Emilia, whom we call our Wonder Woman. This heroine of society participated in one of our training sessions developed a little over 10 years ago; she was always one of the first to arrive full of enthusiasm and happiness where we taught the courses, and also one of the last to leave.
We knew that taking note of our instructions during the backstrap loom design course could be of great help to everyone, and that her condition was against our dear Emilia, but she showed us that she did not need to know how to write or read to be able to get ahead, but he knew that he had his excellent memory that helped him memorize everything he heard during class.
Our Wonder Woman was not only able to finish our training perfectly, but she also performed even better than the rest of the class making us all in awe of her creations and the speed with which she performed her long multi-colored works on the loom without any hesitation. mistake.
But as in every story, there is always a big drawback, and the day of the final delivery arrived. That day Emilia had an important work meeting that she couldn’t miss, and in order to fulfill her responsibilities, she asked us to be absent the day the course was coming to an end.
We were very sorry that she was absent just that day, after all the effort she had made throughout the training, so I felt compelled to take courage and ask her superior for permission so that she could be present at the ceremony. And so it was, her permission was granted and our Pomac Wonder Woman was able to attend the day of the final delivery without any inconvenience, showing her classmates her beautiful fabrics made throughout the backstrap loom course and being an excellent role model for all. people.
