How did you get started in the art world?
Ledda Monica Galvez Impicciatori is a Peruvian artist born on November 14, 1972. She has been passionate about drawing, painting and photography since she was very little, and also has great potential to create new things.
He comes from a family of artists, his father and mother are 2 very creative people focused on the world of painting and photography respectively; while her sister and her family are also involved in the art world along with her great aunt Cristina Gálvez who is an internationally renowned Peruvian artist.
Thanks to his work, Ledda is in permanent contact with artists, artisans and designers who over the years have taught him how to understand art, the culture of the people, the beauty of the original and marketing to create high-quality handcrafted products. Throughout his life he has traveled to different places in Peru and the world with the aim of learning even more about the world of crafts, which is full of wisdom and beauty, and which contains messages to interpret in each of its parts.
She says that “creating handicrafts is a job that is learned through practice and in community, it goes beyond beauty or functionality, it symbolizes a unique cultural bond” and every time she learned something new she was excited to teach it to her family.
Her vocation to teach what she has learned has accompanied her throughout her life, leading her to organize innumerable courses focused on artisans and designers that allowed her to transmit and value her knowledge and experiences that help transform the vision of art and crafts.
He considers art as “the most precious gift” that life has given him, because thanks to it he can communicate to the world the wonders of the beautiful Peruvian culture.
